Oliva - Introduction
The Spanish coastal town of Oliva is situated on the
Mediterranean 'Costa de Valencia' but often mistakenly
quoted as being part of the 'Costa del Azahar'. Almost
equidistant of both Alicante (El Altet) and Valencia (Manises)
airports at 121 and 93 kilometres respectively, Oliva is very
well placed for air travel and presents an ideal Spanish
holiday destination.
The principal town of 'La Safor' region is Gandia
at approximately 9 kilometres to the north with the
smaller coastal towns of Piles, Miramar, Bellreguard,
Guardamar and Daimus en-route. Just a stone's throw south of Oliva is the town of
Denia, which marks the beginning of the Costa Blanca with
all the attractions of Javea, Moraira, Calpe, Benidorm
and beyond. Local infrastructure is very good, with
modernisation and improvement projects constantly
underway.
The registered population of Oliva was just under
27,000 as of 2006 and at that time the local bar and
restaurant association reported that it had around 240
members in the immediate area, meaning plenty to eat, drink,
see and do.
Oliva has shops, bars, restaurants, markets, fiestas,
schools, estate agents, healthcare, fantastic beaches, rivers and on
the list goes. To
put it in a nutshell, the local
tourist board
slogan
once was "Oliva has it all" and it quite possibly does!
You can now take an interactive 360° look around a
growing selection of bars, restaurants and local
businesses via the new Oliva Online 360° Guía at: -
www.oliva-online.net. The website is currently
under development and aims to be a one stop resource for
information about local businesses and what they offer.
Each presentation contains information of services,
menus, tariffs, contact details and location maps as
applicable.
